Madikwe Game Reserve is located in South Africa’s North West province. Our northern border adjoins the Botswana national boundary, while the southern border is defined by the Dwarsberg.
Inspired by the unique natural surroundings, and designed with comfort and relaxation in mind, the accommodation options at Jaci’s Safari Lodge offer guests the ideal base from which to experience their own African safari.
Main Lodge – It features a spacious and elegant lounge, a glorious copper fireplace and bar, kitchen and dining areas, all proudly reflecting our trademark striking colourful decor and authentic proudly South African atmosphere.
Tented Suites – With thatched roofs, low stone walls, suspended viewing decks and canvas roll-up panels, the six spacious tented suites let the outside in.
Nare Suite – This family-friendly bush retreat is named after the resident buffalo bull that frequents the waterhole in front of it. The suite, which accommodates up to six guests, includes a private swimming pool and viewing deck overlooking the waterhole.
Safari Suite – Accommodating up to eight guests, this suite is ideal for larger families or groups. The custom-built deck features a central firepit and spacious seating area leading on to a partially covered ‘star pod’, ideal for stargazing, and a private swimming pool.
Starbed Suites – Bushveld romance personified, these two new suites are furnished with bursts of colour and custom-made finishes, with rooftop extensions that afford guests the unique opportunity of sleeping under the African stars.
Children of all ages are welcome in the Nare and Safari Suites at Jaci’s Safari Lodge. Children can be accommodated in the Tented Suites at Jaci’s Safari Lodge at certain times, by special request.
Jaci’s Tree Lodge, guests are accommodated in custom-built treehouses that seem to float high above the ground. Guests can enjoy a magnificent accommodation experience with views into the surrounding riverine forest as well as glimpses across the Marico River. Jaci’s Tree Lodge blends into the overarching canopy of the surrounding bush and foliage, making for fantastic birdwatching in a natural environment. Due to its structure, on wooden stilts connected by raised walkways.
With eight double-occupancy treehouse-style suites, (featuring outdoor showers, indoor baths and suspended viewing decks) as well as private main lodge and kitchen, boma areas, swimming pools and private game drive vehicles and field guides – Jaci’s Tree Lodge is the ideal environment for a private, stress-free, exclusive-use safari experience.

Madikwe is home to the Top 10, which includes everything you want to see on safari, and more. We are proud to have the famous Big 5 (including both black and white rhino), plus endangered African wild dog, spotted and brown hyena, giraffe, hippo and cheetah, in addition to a wide diversity of plains game. There are over 300 bird species, so it is indeed a birders’ paradise.
Jaci’s Lodges’ complete photographic offering caters to all guests, whether amateurs or professionals, who want to capture once-in-a-lifetime memories, rare and beautiful game sightings, emotive landscapes or those special often-overlooked details that the bush provides in abundance.
Perfectly complementing the photographic offering at Jaci’s Lodges is the submerged Terrapin Hide. Accessible via an underwater tunnel, the popular hide is open 24/7 to all guests.
For your convenience, our photographic equipment is also available to hire.
A family safari retreat at Jaci’s Lodges is packed full of activities and child-friendly amenities for all ages, ensuring all family members get the most out of their African Adventure! Both Nare and Safari Suite guests have a private game viewing vehicle for the duration of their stay.
Accompanied by an expert walking-trails guide, guests can explore parts of Madikwe Game Reserve on foot. You may not spot many of the larger animal species (although you will almost certainly see their spoor), but you will learn so much more about the relationship between flora and fauna in the African bush, making it an unforgettable experience for all your senses.
The focus of a walking safari is the things you may miss on a game drive: the smaller animals, insects and birds, surrounding trees and grasses, with a spotlight on animal spoor and dung, small flowers and plants, bird calls and the aromatic smells of herbs and shrubs.
Madikwe Game Reserve offers an extraordinary setting for romantic wedding ceremonies with a difference, surrounded by Mother Nature, with the setting African sun as your witness. Joined by a gathering of close family and cherished friends, brides- and grooms-to-be are invited to celebrate their big day at Jaci’s Lodges.
