DumaTau

DumaTau, meaning ‘roar of the lion’, is a luxury tented camp located in the private Linyanti Wildlife Reserve that borders the western boundary of Chobe National Park. Its extensive lagoon frontage ensures that each ultra-spacious 142 m2 guest suite has uninterrupted views over Osprey Lagoon, and the movements of the mega-herds of elephant the Linyanti is so famous for as they congregate along the waterways and lagoons during the dry winter months. The area is also renowned for general wildlife including red lechwe, Burchell’s zebra, giraffe, buffalo and warthog. Predator sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyaena are good.

All seven twin tents and one family unit have a private plunge pool and a comfortable lounge, and feature a large bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers. The main dining and lounge area boasts its own wide-angle vistas overlooking the wildlife-rich lagoon, while a new wellness centre and gym – shared with Little DumaTau – includes an inviting shaded deck, a lap pool, spa, snack deli and trading store. DumaTau runs on 100% solar energy.

Little DumaTau

Situated just to the north of DumaTau on the same lagoon frontage, is a haven of sophisticated elegance. With just four supremely spacious tented guest rooms, each with its own lounge, private plunge pool, and bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, this intimate camp promises an exceptional Linyanti safari experience.  Little DumaTau’s dining and lounge areas offer the same uninterrupted views over Osprey Lagoon, and it is here that guests have the opportunity to learn more about elephant conservation and the concession’s important biomonitoring project.

Little DumaTau shares a new wellness centre and gym with DumaTau; this includes an inviting shaded deck, a lap pool, spa, snack deli and trading store. The stylish Star Bed sleep-out (weather permitting) is an unforgettable way to experience the nearby Zibadianja Lagoon. With easy access to the Linyanti Concession’s extraordinary range of habitats, prolific plains game and attendant predators are a certainty all year round.
